Response to a writing prompt from http://www.languageisavirus.com/
Loneliness is the wind
without a single tree through which to rustle.
Loneliness is the rain
without an inch of earth to patter upon.
Loneliness is a beautiful, heartbreaking chord
without an ear to fall upon.
Loneliness is a little dog
left out in the cold when all it desires is a fire to warm itself.
Loneliness only needs a spark
that leaps from one heart to another – a spark to rekindle the inner flame.
Loneliness is a small, dark cloud,
fleeing before the sun’s flame.
