This being my first post, I thought I would publish an original poem of mine that sums up the chief purpose of this weblog: to add some color and originality to the world.

a solitary
Crimson norway maple,
standing on the corner
of the street,

is a single Purple
sewn amid
a patchwork quilt
of green.

it stands apart –
and yet –
together with the whole,
an Integrated Separate
part of the quilted masterpiece.

it is a garish
in the regularity
of the surrounding
verdure –

yet, somehow,
without that Purple square,
the fabric lacks
true Beauty.

the monochrome
of greenery
is just another blanket –

but Oh!
with that one barest touch
of Crimson –
Now it is,
in Truth,
a work of Art.
